Sarah Olsen

Owner, ASID Award Winning Interior Designer

For over twenty years, Sarah has designed award-winning and innovative interiors for her clients. Believing that a home is where the heart is, and the haven for the moments of the most profound joy, she designs interiors with her clients as an active part of the journey. From the architectural schematics to the final accessories, Sarah’s design theory is innovative, stylish, and personal to each project. Outgoing and a focused professional, you will find her love of having fun while designing refreshing.

Personal passions:  Obviously home and personal accessories (if you’ve shopped Merriment, you know this!), recreational sports outdoors (she might just ride a motorcycle), cooking with her family (husband still has her beat with the Sous Vide), anything that has to do with her kids (there are 3), and reading a good book in the sunshine.

Mary Jo Cress

Interior Design Associate, Vintage Finery Curator

Inspired early in life by her mother’s vibrant and imaginative gardens, and an admiration of all things beautiful, Mary Jo has since been evolving her own talents through designing interiors.  Mary Jo’s signature style is to inquisitively interact with her clients, creating cohesively eclectic spaces that focus on treasured objects, both old and new.  In keeping with her sensibilities that every home should embody sophistication with bit of whimsy, her comfortably classic interiors proclaim, "Welcome!  Come in, stay a while and enjoy your time here."

Personal passions: Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren, and Ralph again (do you think she has an obsession?), nurturing her gardens and friendships (favorite flower is the peony), hunting down rare vintage finds (she hosts an annual pop-up sale), and entertaining and traveling with her family

Kate Deppert

Interior Designer, Retail Buyer

Designing since 2003, Kate is inspired by homes that embody gracious hospitality where you feel an instant sense of welcome, warm, and home. She creates unique, personal and intentional spaces for her clients from this design esthetic. Kate also embraces an entire sense of lifestyle in her designing- using all the senses to add layers of character to your personal refuge.  She has honed her ability to listen and discern, skillfully assisting you in finding your own design voice and authentic style.

Personal Passions:  Kate loves to be a student of humanity, as well as an educator.   She is a lover of words and wit.  When she is not designing, you will find her immersed in the company of family and friends.

Personal passions: Cooking (her favorite is making big, cozy pots of soup), reading (uplifting books that she knows will end happy), playing outdoors (planting/tending to her flower gardens) and teaching swim lessons in her pool. Beyond it all, Amy’s greatest passions are her husband of 25 years and four amazing children.
